The Finchley Italian Social Club has had an affinity with the O.G.I. since it commenced and I am proud to state that we have always been able to enter a Finchley O.G.I. team.

In 1984 The Finchley Team won the Winners Shield but unfortunately, since then such a repetition has eluded us. However, through the dedication of youngsters and parents alike we have achieved excellent scoring results, received lots of medals, and have given our competitors a run for their money !

This year the Finchley O.G.I Team has 78 members with all age groups represented. We have new members who are competing for the first time, members whose own parents participated in previous years and we also have many members who have returned time after time to compete and be part of this worthwhile event.

I have personally been involved with the O.G.I for a number of years and it never ceases to amaze me how committed our young people are, they attend weekly training and strive to do the best they can on an individual level and as part of a team.

I must also mention at this point how supportive our parents are, they make sure the children arrive for training on time, encourage and support their efforts and some have developed excellent coaching skills ! At times of fundraising they offer help and along with our sponsors, contribute financially.

The O.G.I has given us all the opportunity to foster our Anglo - Italian Community
not only in our local area of Barnet but also in London.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the members of The Finchley O.G.I

Remember last time in the year 2000 we were runners up, let’s see if we can take the next step up !
